Friday. 16th [January 1863]. Helped to put photos in Lady Mary’s book– The Henry Arks came to lunch– Went for a walk with Miss Kenyon & Mrs Nora in garden. In eveng had charades & dancing– As we were going up to bed all the gentlemen stood & sang to us—catches & glees & finished up disorderly with John Browns pretty little Indians– I, Fanny & Nora then had an orgie in my room—consisting of mulled elder wine– | |
