19 January 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton | |
Monday. 19th [January 1863]. We left at 11 oclock for Canford and arrived at 3– (Miss K & Blanche stayed at Roehampton.) At the same time arrived Col. N. Sturt, Con: & I walked to Mrs Pynes after having had luncheon & admired all the new chandeliers & other Exhibition purchases. On the 7 train came Kate & Cecil—the Selmers—Charles Gurneys, Berties & Charles Hambros with the Miss St Quentins—J. Bateson & Mr Hamond– We had dinner very late in consequence– | |
