20 April 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Monday. 20th [April 1863]. I took L. Holland to the drawing class at Sheen & we came home with Mrs Tushington. Had lunch & at 3 o’clock started for Blackheath in the poney carriage. The M. drove me there & I drove home. We found Mrs H. P. J. Layard who had been ill much better & up in her chair. She seemed glad to see us and after stopping about an hour chatting with the Old Lady & drinking chocolate we drove home. We were threatened with rain but only had a few drops & got home in time for dinner.
