8 March 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 8th [March 1870]. Wrote in the morning. I expected Venturita to go out driving with me—as she did not come by 3 I went to the Palace but found her gone out walking. I then went to Mme Montijo’s to pick up Lady Ely & take her for a drive, we left a few cards & then went to the Casa de Campo where we got out a little to walk. When I came home about 5 I found old M. Aylton calling on Henry. We did not go out—played Mandola & music in the evening. | |
