3 February 1873 — Madrid | |
Monday. 3rd February [1873]. I painted all the morng & Esquivel came to give me a lesson– It was a bad day & I did not go out but Henry went to Bouillés for a meeting of dips then abt a law there has been made that their houses may be entered & searched. Mme Ettling came at 5 & Henry came home & told us that the meeting had lasted 3 hours & that Bouillé had made a long speech abt last night abusing the King Govt & Spaniards. We had a dinner of 16– La Romanas, Alazare, Saavedras &c &c & one or 2 people came in the evening. We had a pleasant party. | |
