17 October 1873 — Madrid | |
Friday. 17th [October 1873]. Copied for Henry. We drove out & walked in the Retiro. Bernadine came to see me just as I was starting so we took her with us. Mme Silvela called with Isabel quite grown up now & rather handsome– I read aloud till dinner time. We went at 9½ to see Brahma met the Ayltons there & Louise came to our box. We also had all the Hamilton family in the next box. Brahma was very well got up– | |
