3 September 1874 — Paris | |
Thursday. 3rd [September 1874]. Left Paris by early train. met Mme de Peyronnet & travelled to London with her. Wet crossing but not rough. We got out at Cannon St & sent Dentoni on to Charing X with luggage. We found a train just going to Greenwich & so we went straight down to Blackheath to stay with Grannie. Got there in time for dinner. Hill joined us later with the luggage. We found Julian Layard staying with Grannie. | |
