23 September 1874 — Paris | |
Wednesday. 23rd September [1874]. Emilia & I went off in the morning to shop & unfortunately it rained. We went to the bonnet shop & abt a dress & got home to lunch. It was pouring in the afternoon & not knowing what to do we went to the Louvre but nearly got carried away by the rain. We met there Hayward & Sir Eskine Perry who has just returned from Venice. The M. & S. dined with us & went to see “Orfée” afterwards. | |
