28 March 1875 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 28th [March 1875]. Easter Sunday. I did not go out—the day was fine. Henry went to the concert. I wrote a long letter to Blanche. We had Castilar Valera & de los Santos Alvarez to dinner. Castilar was in high spirits. He said he had sent his resignation of the Professorship of the University on acct of the orders not to teach anything but what is allowed by the church– & that the Minister Sr Orovio had accepted it & antedated it in the Gazette by one day! | |
