16 June 1875 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 16th [June 1875]. We went out before 11 breakfast to draw boats under the gardens but was not very successful. Visit from Mrs Jacelyn who leaves Venice to day. At 3 went to paint & stayed till nearly 6. Square in eveng after to Pss Clary. I went in my bonnet & was horrified to find people in grand eveng get up so beat a hasty retreat. | |
