12 August 1875 — London | |
Thursday. 12th [August 1875]. Henry went away early to Osborne with the Members of the Council to see the Queen. I got up late– Mme Hurtado called. Went to Paddington Station with the M & S & Miss Bentinck & met Connie there. I went down to Aldermaston by 3.15 train. I got there soon after 5 & abt ½ hour after Henry turned up from Osborne having stopped at Basingstoke & come to Mortimer. There are staying here Mr & Mrs James (He is an Eton Master) Mr Hugh Dalrymple, Mrs Ross & her boy. The Miss D. Gordons. I was able to dine down but not to eat. Miss Elizabeth Thompson also stayed here. | |
