29 September 1875 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 29th [September 1875]. I went to breakfast at the Serranos & Henry fetched me at 1 & we went to call on the Bernars—found them in & sat with them some time. Lady Walsham’s father Mr Scarlett & his wife came to call at tea time also the Altgraf Salm the Austrian Chargé des Affaires & Carnide the Portuguese Secy. I had a headache & went to bed before dinner. In the eveng Henry had a visit from Chaudordy & Weisweiller. | |
