6 October 1875 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 6th [October 1875]. I went to breakfast with Dss de la Torre– In the afternoon the 2 Walsham boys came to tea with me & Mr & Mrs Scarlett came & fetched them away. Henry went round the Prenderias with Giovanni & brought me a lovely flounce of Flemish lace & a pair of bronze & enamel candlesticks. After dinner Monteverde paid us a visit. | |
