17 October 1875 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 17th [October 1875]. We had our new bird cage brought home & spent some time putting the little birds into it. Henry & I took a walk up & down the Campo de Moro under the Palace. It was fair & warm. The Scarletts, Phipps, Louise Aylton, Mr Weil & Esquivel dined with us & Chaudordy came afterwards to bid us goodbye as he leaves tomorrow for France. | |
