16 January 1876 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 16th [January 1876]. Still headache. Did not get up till breakfast time (11.30). Went to the Quartett Concert. The King & Pss were there. The Concert was not a good one. They played a trio of Mendlessohn’s & Guelbenzu played the piano part disgracefully. We sat with Mmes D’Antas & de Poix & Clarita– The 2 former came here to tea afterwards. All the Legation excepting Lady Walsham dined with us. Had a little music afterwards. | |
