25 March 1876 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 25th [March 1876]. Mr Birch called early & sat with us during breakfast time. It was a fête day & altho’ Nelly came for her lesson Esquivel did not come. So I amused her by playing the harmonium with her & gave her tea early before she went away. We went to the Hatzfeldt’s reception in the eveng. | |
