13 April 1876 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 13th [April 1876]. Holy Thursday. Weather horrid. Did not go out. Henry & Mr Morier walked out to see the Procession of King & Pss visiting churches. Hill & I worked at repostero & saw the K. going into the Church of the Incarnation opposite our house. In the eveng we walked to the Bauers & found there some Spaniards who were glad not to eat maigre but they had a dreadful fight as the menu was all maigre. Henry’s cough was bad. | |
