26 June 1876 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 26th [June 1876]. It was a dull morng & we feared rain but as at 9 it cleared a little Henry & I then went to the Lido & I bathed. But it was not possible to draw in the afternoon so we went with Henry to shop & went to S. Marks to see Gonzalvo & to arrange with him abt our going tomorrow to draw in the Chapel of S. Isidoro. Mrs Burr & I came home abt 4 as Mrs B was not very well. It poured in torrents so that there was no going out till after dinner when Henry & I took a row but were driven in again by the rain.
