16 September 1877 — Therapia | |
Sunday. 16th [September 1877]. Dr Washburn came for the service. Heard of a great battle at Plevna & one at Biela both Turkish victories. In the afternoon we went out in the 2nd caique, the Genl & Major de W. & Miss Boyd & we went to the Helicon & fetched Capt Stopford. We went to the “sweet waters of Asia” where we landed & took a walk & picked heather & hops & then returned & sat under the trees & made Kef with nargilehs & coffee. We then went home again. | |
