14 October 1877 — Therapia | |
Sunday. 14th [October 1877]. We had no service today. Dr Dickson came to lunch & also Baron Mundy who impressed me as being a huge humbug & a vulgar man. In the afternoon Henry, the Genl & I went out in the 6 oared caique. I called at Petala’s on Mrs Jenkins & we took Mrs J. out with us. Went to Buyukdéré & called on Princess Reuss & found her in– Took a short row & then returned home. Miss Boyd did not return from Candilli as we expected. Prince Sciarra Colonna & Corti dined with us besides the Embassy. | |
