18 October 1877 — Therapia | |
Thursday. 18th [October 1877]. We breakfasted at 8 & went to town in the Antelope. Henry got out at Besiktas & took the Adl & Mr Golding & Edwards to present them to the Sultan. We went on to town. I went to the Khan where the clothes are stored & then on to Hanson’s bank where we had a committee of the Hansons & their wives & Drs Millingen & Dickson. Went back to the Khan to lunch provided by Major de Winton & then returned home in the steam launch by 5 when I dressed & went out fishing with Mr Parnis but it got rough & we could not stay out long. M. de Mony dined with us. Corti & Sciarra came in the eveng. | |
