3 November 1877 — Therapia | |
Saturday. 3rd [November 1877]. We had had a dreadful night & this morng the rain was driving into the house in every direction. At 11 Mrs de Winton & messenger Hare arrived in the steam launch having arrived by French mail & could not land here but had to go to Petalas & come up in a carriage. We sat by the fire all day. Played Badminton in the afternoon. We asked all the gentlemen in the chancery to dine as they could hardly have got to Petalas to dine & the Genl never came to dinner either so we had the Count, Elliot, Smijth, Sandison, Kennedy– | |
