16 April 1878 — Constantinople
Tuesday. 16th [April 1878]. Went into the garden to make a sketch directly after breakfast & only stopped painting to come to lunch & for tea. It was a hot day. Mr Fawcett came to see Henry & told him that there was typhus among the refugees at Therapia & so we think we shall not be able to go so soon as next Thursday. Mrs Crawford, Mrs & Miss Sorrell & Messrs Ede & Millingen called. Hobart P. dined with us & he & I played billiards afterwards.
