29 July 1878 — Therapia | |
Monday. 29th [July 1878]. Painted Aimée’s portrait all the morning. Afternoon we went out in the 6 oared caique with the M & S & Aimée & landed at Korfez & walked up the cypress avenue & then down to the ponds where the tortoises are & across to the other side of the valley. We climbed the hill till we came to the ruins of Fuad Pasha’s kiosque. We sent the cavass back to Korfez to tell the caique to go round to meet us at Kanlijeh and we went down into that village having to jump a stone walk in order to get out of the kiosque grounds. We then went along the Asia shore home to tea. Baker P. dined & slept here. Ct Zichy slept here. Party as usual. | |
