31 July 1878 — Therapia | |
Wednesday. 31st [July 1878]. Went to bathe with Aimée. Painted her portrait. After lunch saw men (foul looking) fishing the mackerel that rushed by in sheets & thought we wd like to do the same so we went over to the secretaries’ house and got lines there but the fish all disappeared at once. We returned & played lawn tennis. Mrs W. Hanson, Hilda & Ida d’Ehrenhoff came. Ida to remain. Henry & the Admiral Commerell played– Capt. Wingfield & Mr Scudamore Stanhope dined & Mr Woodford came after dinner. Very tired bed early. | |
