27 October 1879 — Therapia | |
Monday. 27th [October 1879]. Went to Kavak to paint with the Thompsons. In the afternoon we got the Cavass to bring us refugees to the garden to paint in our figures. Mr Wallace & a Mr Sunderland dined. In the eveng the latter sang to us & amused us immensely. He sang his own compositions amongst them one with a refrain “Pity Me!” which convulsed us. | |
