20 December 1879 — Constantinople | |
Saturday. 20th December [1879]. Had a Turkish lesson. It was very cold & snowed. At 4 it was fine so I went to the meeting at the Chapel vestry to arrange about Christmas dinners &c. & came home to tea at 5 & then practised the Piano; we had the Washingtons to dinner & some music with Mr Sartoris in the eveng but we did not get on very well without Mme Livadari who was not able to come. | |
