16 August 1880 — Paris | |
Monday. 16th [August 1880]. Went out in a fiacre with Henry. We went shopping & to the Embassy &c & home to lunch. Afterwards we drove to the Jardin des Plantes & walked about there seeing the animals. A storm threatened & it rained a little & was very hot. We dined at 6 & left by 8.40 train in a sleeping car for Turin. | |
