28 October 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 28th October [1880]. Had a good day’s painting only stopping for luncheon– At 3.30 Henry fetched me & we went out in gondola to the Piazzetta & from there walked to the Giardino. It was so warm that I was obliged to take off my cloak walking. The sunset was lovely as we rowed home. There was a fog in the evening. Played backgammon in the eveng. Henry & I did house accounts after tea. | |
