30 October 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 30th [October 1880]. Mr Burton left by 9 train for Padua. I painted all day till 3.30 when I went out with Henry to S. Moisé & we walked. It was a blowing day & rather disagreeable but not cold. We walked round to the Hotel d’Angleterre & left cards on the Miss Montalbas. Met Lord & Lady Bagot & asked them to come to tea on Monday evening next. Wrote letters from T time till dinner. Played backgammon. | |
