26 July 1883 — Berlin | |
Thursday. 26th July [1883]. We had only to step across from our hotel to the Central station & left for Cassel by the 8.15 train by which we got to Cassel at 4.15. We got our lunch at Sangerhausen en route. We went to the Hotel König von Preussen at Cassel a nice old fashioned inn where we were very comfortable. Henry & I went out to take a walk. We went to the Frederick Platz & then down again into the town & by the great new buildings, public offices &c built since the war & the annexation to Prussia & then sauntered back to the hotel. Had some supper. Played cribbage—bed– | |
