15 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 15th December [1883]. Olga sat to me & I modelled all the morning. Directly after lunch we went out. It was a lovely day & we went to the Eden’s garden & walked with them. Came home at 4. Emily R came to tea & I kept her to dinner. Ersilia also came & then Olga who brought a Css Grün to be introduced & a cousin of her own Mlle Palavicini. After dinner we took Emily home & went ourselves to the Edens to play cribbage & I worked. Miss Ker was there & a pretty little widow Mme Actin who is rather an invalid having hurt her spine in a fall at see saw at the Lido. She is clever, paints well & is rather independent but very attractive.
