30 June 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 30th [June 1884]. I finished reading Condivi to Alice. In afternoon I went out to see Miss Grant who I found better but still in bed. I went on to Mrs Browns being invited to tea to meet Mme & Mlle de Gersdorff Russians who come here now every winter. The mother was very agreeable & speaks English perfectly. In the evening Henry & I went to Css Valmaranas but Henry would not stay so we came away at 11. | |
