Monday. 15th [March 1886]. Eugenia Fitzroy is dead & they sent for Mildred to go to her funeral wh Arthur would not hear of. I lent her the carriage to go to Brompton Cemetery with Alice Murray to put flowers on her grave. I walked out in the morng with Mildred to order the flowers & then went on to my “Dinners.” Arranged dinner table in afternoon. Mme Reyntiens, Mr Post, Sir J. & Lady de Gex, Mr & Mrs Poynter, Mr Hamilton Aidé, Sir G. Dasent & my brother Arthur dined with us—& we had a musical party in the evening, Mr & Mrs Underdown came & sang, Ct P. Loredan played the piano, Blanche sang, Miss Trevelyan played the violin. We had tea in the billiard room & a good many friends dropped in.
