Monday. 3rd May [1886]. I drove Henry down to the National Gallery in the afternoon & then I went shopping. At Hatchards I met Aunt Felicia & took her driving with me & then took her back to Almonds Hotel & had tea with her & Mary Bertie who is on a sofa & beginning to get well—but still very suffering. We dined with Sir Henry & Lady Thompson & met Mr & Mrs Alma Tadema & his daughter the novelist, the Pellys & Alice & Hallam. | |
