11 July 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord | |
Sunday. 11th July [1886]. A fine day at last & to our great relief we saw the sun wh had been invisible since the day we went to the Upper valley. We all took a walk in the afternoon in search of flowers & turned up towards the saetter. Back to dinner at 4. We all went up to the Lake. Fred & Edgar went together fishing, I stayed with Henry. I first tried for trout at Haande & got 4—then we went on the lake & got a few more– I came back on the back of the carriole with John, Henry driving– At Friswold John & Henry left me & went to fish & did not come home till nearly 3 having had very fine sport. one salmon of 18 lbs.—one of 28 & one of 33 lbs. | |
