3 January 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 3rd [January 1887]. Had lace lesson. Lovely day. We went to the Lido directly after luncheon & walked in the sand. Home to tea. Major & Mrs Biggs called in the morng with letter from Hallam Murray; he is one of the Queen’s Secretaries. We asked them to come & dine which they did. They left about 10 & Henry & I played patience. | |
