11 May 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 11th May [1887]. It was not a very bright day but we went as arranged out with the Edens in their steam launch. The Aberdares & I went in the launch & we joined Henry, the 2 Du Canes & Pamela at the Favorita. Just as we landed it came on to pour & we had to get into a room at the farm house but the rain did not last & we brought our chairs outside. Mr Eden & I amused ourselves painting storm effects till it looked so threatening that we thought it prudent to hasten home. | |
