5 September 1887 — Chester | |
Monday. 5th [September 1887]. We went by a 9 train to Manchester to see the Exhibition. We drove from the station to the Exn & found great crowds there & it was not easy to get round the picture gallery which comprised all the best English pictures of our present Queen’s reign– We got some lunch with difficulty & caught a train wh got us back to Chester at 5. | |
