7 November 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 7th [November 1887]. Kate sat to me & I got on with her bust. I had a lace lesson. After lunch Kate, Mama & I walked by the Rialto to the Piazza & Morelli & Henry went in the gondola & sent it for us at 4.30 & we went to the Browns to tea & met there a few English getting home abt 6. We found Cortelazzo arrived to stay with us on our return. Dined at 7 that Henry & Kate might go to the Piazza to hear the bands play the “Battle of S. Martino.” Mama showed Morelli her collection of cards & Cortelazzo & I chatted. The others returned at 9. It had begun to rain after a splendid day. | |
