20 December 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 20th [December 1887]. Went to Zerazzi’s studio at 10. Mr Malcolm returned from London. He had been putting up at our house in Queen Anne St. He had been called about P&O business, whether or no the ships should come to Venice at all. Mme d’Adda & Lady Galway came to tea. We had a Trio practice in the evening. We hired Signor Dini at 10 fcs a night to play the violincello, Pauline Trevelyan played the piano & Beatrice violin– They tried over a very difficult trio of Rubinstein very successfully.
