1 April 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 1st April [1888]. Easter Sunday. Alice & Hallam’s birthday. There was a large congregation at the service. The room was well arranged & the table changed to the opposite part of the room. It looked very nice & every body was pleased. Abt 3 Sir Arthur Gordon arrived. His son went with Mr Malcolm on board the P&O to meet him as he has just come from Ceylon where he is Govr. Mme Wilkoff, the Brandolins & Holmes Whites came to tea. Mr Brown dined with us. | |
