Saturday. 14th [September 1889]. Woke very tired & did not get up till after breakfast—& wrote in bed. Painted. Did not go out. Girls went to the church practise. The Vicomte & Vss & Mlle de Soveral came to tea & stayed a long time chatting. I read aloud to Henry. M & Mme Blumenthal, Mrs OConnell, Mr Jameson, Mr Woods & Mr Brown & Mr R. Curtis dined with us; after the Blumenthals had gone we sang nigger melodies. | |
