10 February 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 10th [February 1890]. Got up late so as to prepare for tonight’s exertions, arranged the house & made bows for our cotillion tonight. I was sitting in my bedroom & there we all gradually assembled & had our tea & were joined by Idita & her husband. The ball was well attended & very animated & was kept up till 3 A.M. About 200 people came to it. | |
