9 March 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 9th [March 1890]. Went to church in the morning with the girls. The service went very well & the church looked nice & clean & tidy after the white washing. After church I heard that Css Hoyas was here so I went to the Grand Hotel to see her directly after lunch. Henry & Nola walked on the Zattere. I went on to afternoon service and then was going to walk home when Lady Galway asked me to go with her in her gondola & we went for an airing on the Giudecca & then to call on Css Brandolin who was out, & then home. Ct Canevaro called. Henry took Nola & Ola to the opera it being their last chance of seeing Stagno. Eda & I played patience & went early to bed. Our 21st wedding day. | |
