14 December 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 14th December [1890]. Went to church in the morning. Fine but very windy. Went out in gondola with Henry for a giro on the Giudecca but it was very rough & there were quite waves so that we could not go far. Called on the Hurtados & saw Mme H. who has been ill but is up at last again. Came home early. Read to Henry. Finished “Mme de Sabran” & began V. Hugo’s “Choses Vues” very interesting. | |
