18 September 1893 — Glencarron Lodge, Ross and Cromarty
Monday. 18th [September 1893]. It was a windy night & rained a great deal in the morning—but abt 11 it cleared so Louis, Eda & I went down to fish the home pools with worms & got nothing—came in late for lunch. After it Louis & Ola went to Long Pool & I to Black Pool. I fished it all down with a fly & got nothing. Abt 5 Henry appeared on the bank & called me up to him & told me to join Eda at the Fall Pool wh I did—& fishing with a worm I soon got 2 nice trout of 1 lb each—& lost others—this closes my fishing for the year– It was dark when we got home.
