2 November 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 2nd November [1893]. I went out in the sandolo to see the Countess & to leave a card on Css Papadopoli who since her bad conduct has been public is not received in society tho’ everyone knew of it before. I took the occasion as it is the “Morti” & she has come to visit her son’s grave to call on her as I hear she is repentant & miserable. I went also to the Hulton’s & gave them Coco the green parrot Henry gave me last year but who is quite wanting in intelligence. The children are delighted. | |
