25 December 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 25th [December 1893]. Christmas Day. We all went to morning church. Henry & I went in the gondola & sent on Lina & Felicia to their service at St Marks. The girls walked. We had our usual Christmas Dinner to which came Mr & Mrs Hulton, Mr & Mrs Fisher, Mrs Bronson & Edith, Mr Woods, Signor Zuccato. In the evening a few more came and amongst them Mme Stefani. Her son in law Mr Fisher was very anxious to dance & he persuaded her to play for them which she very good naturedly did & they all said they had enjoyed their evening | |
