23 July 1894 — Chenies | |
Monday. 23rd [July 1894]. Edward returned to town by 10.32 train in the morning. Blanche & Gwyneth remained till the 4.22 P.M. Blanche & I sat talking all the morng. She worked. I read aloud some of Christina Rossetti’s poems which we both liked very much. I & Nurse drove to the station with her & the child & then went on for a little drive & came home to tea at 5. I wrote a few letters. Nurse was not very well her nerves were over done so we went to bed at 10 after 8 o’cl dinner. I slept alone for the first time. | |
